Katharina Treutler 26 April, 2010

Dear members of APO,
I'm still fulfilled with lots of wonderful impressions and memories, that's why I would like to thank you all once more!
It was a very touching experience for me to share the 2nd piano concerto of Rachmaninoff with your excellent orchestra,to share this passionate music with so incredibly sympathetic, open-minded and heart-touching people!
I'm also very thankful and lucky about meeting, working and spending time with Eduard Topchjan - such a great conductor and personality!
Thanks so much! Hope to see you all again!
Yours, Katharina Treutler.

Ian Gillan 29 March, 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen,
May I thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your skills and passion were beyond all my expectations. I will never forget these wonderful concerts. With love, respect and many thanks.

Ian Gillan 29 March, 2010

Renowned Ian Gillan, soloist of legendary Deep Purple gave a concert with Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra in Yerevan on March 26. “The Orchestra with no experience in playing rock music demonstrated professionalism and I was surprised that musicians knew all songs in the program,” Gillan told a news conference on Saturday. “Armenia is my spiritual homeland. It has nothing to do with religion… I just like you, Armenians.” The concert organizers (Mediamax director Ara Tadevosyan and Jon Dee, the Founder and Chairman of the Australian Do Something organization and Rock Aid Armenia project initiator) informed that the Smoke on the Water single recorded 20 years ago as the 1988 earthquake relief, as well as the Yerevan concert will be put on a DVD. VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said, for his part, “It is an honor for us to be a part of such a project.” The concerts proceeds will be spent on reconstruction of a music school in Gyumri.

Sofia Gubaidulina 22 March, 2010

Yuri Bashmet 22 March, 2010

Я получил огромное наслаждение, выступая с Ереванским филармоническим симфоническим оркестром и главным дирижером Эдуардом Топчяном! Приятно музицировать с высоко профессиональными и «живыми» музыкантами. Браво!!!До следющих встреч!

Krzysztof Penderecki 10 April, 2008

I would like to express my gratitude for the great commitment of all the musicians of the Armenian Philharmonic Orchestra during the realization of the concert closing the festival of my music in Yerevan. Thank you for the high artistic level and for the excellent preparation of the orchestra by you, Maestro. The time that I spent in Armenia will remain forever in my memory - the great friendliness of the whole orchestra and the great audience which gave me such a warm welcome in a country in which I have my roots.

Jonas Alber 05 November, 2007

It was a great honour to me to conduct the opening night of the first Yerevan International Music Festival. The Armenian Philaharmonic gave tremendous performance of Rachmaninov's second symphony which I'll never forget. Thank you all for this fantasic week I had in Yerevan!

Julian Gallant Conductor, pianist Director, Pushkin House 08 June, 2007

I had the honour and pleasure of conducting the Armenian Philharmonic in June 2006. I’m bound to day to say that this was a joyous experience. The musicians of the orchestra are delightful to work with; at the same time they are disciplined and hard-working. I’d like to congratulate Maestro Topchjan on the level to which he has brought the ensemble.

The program included Shostakovich’s Festival Overture, Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and the Third Symphony of Robert Schumann. The orchestra played with great virtuosity and clarity in the Shostakovich and Rachmaninoff, yet produced a much more introverted (and entirely appropriate) sound for the Schumann – even though this symphony is rarely played in Yerevan.

The Armenian Philharmonic is run very efficiently and enjoys financial stability; as everybody knows, these aspects are of immense importance.

Mischa Maisky, cello (Israel) 29 April, 2007
